"Hello everyone, I'm Ella Apostoaie! I graduated from Wellesley College in 2021, but I am originally from Norwich in England. My passion for languages led me to study Mandarin in college, and from there I developed a keen interest everything China related - from Chinese cinema, to Chinese philosophy, to Chinese science fiction! I ended up with an East Asian Studies major, and I was lucky enough to meet Leslie Wolf-Creutzfeldt at a Wellesley networking event where she introduced me to the China-US Women’s Foundation!"
"Hello everyone! My name is Marisa (Huang) Nardone Mahoney and I am the President of the Junior Board. I graduated Wellesley College in 2020 with a B.A. in Psychology. I was adopted from Hubei, China and grew up in a suburb of Boston. I am fascinated by the intersection of cultures, particularly as it pertains to multicultural and immigrant youth and young adults. I joined the China-US Women’s Foundation in June, 2020 and have assisted with the organization of several Gen-Z Global Forums. It has been a privilege to meet and work with Leslie, Mingyi, and Leslie, as well as the many wonderful partners of the Foundation. As a member of the Junior Board, I am eager to continue organizing events and developing events that explore the issues that we are most passionate about."
"Hi everyone! My name is Hannah and I’ve had the pleasure of working with the CUSWF since September 2021 as a founding member of the junior board as well as in various other capacities, including donor organizing and event coordination. I graduated from Vassar College in 2021 with B.A.s in Chinese Language and Literature and Women’s Studies. I recently moved from Washington, D.C. to Madison, WI, where I work in healthcare software (while being the sole junior board member representing the Midwest). Working with the CUSWF has been a really fun and rewarding experience, and I look forward to our plans for the future, such as continuing our Gen-Z forums to cover more topics, as well as expanding on our Zero-Waste challenge from our last forum!"
"Hello everyone! I'm Yena. I am a rising senior at Wellesley College studying Political Science and East Asian Studies (China concentration). I am from Seoul, South Korea, and this fall I will be studying International Development in Geneva, Switzerland. I've been with the CUSWF since the summer of 2021, and it has been a pleasure to work on the CUSWF with such inspiring and passionate women. Our Junior Board hosted a Gen-Z global forum and a Film Festival focused on climate change and sustainability this year. We plan to explore more issues in the future and look forward to engaging in meaningful conversations and events!"
